MY STORY

I am 31 years old with a love for outdoor adventures & sports, encouraging authenticity & being weird. I am incredibly passionate about promoting self love and care, with a strong belief that kindness, gratitude and self expression are the keys to a fulfilling life. In my spare time I enjoy playing disc golf, riding jet skis, going camping, skiing, dancing, singing, playing video games or getting cozy with a scary movie! I have a giant family that I am very close with and love a good true crime series, reality show or cooking show after a long days work! I have ADHD that took 28 years to diagnose and am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. For as long as I can remember, beauty services, art and self care have had significant influences on my life. From being a young girl admiring my mother as she worked in cool hair salons to indulging in performance arts throughout high school and being the go-to friend for party makeup, it was evident that my interest in beauty - paired with my creativity - was more than just an excuse to force my friends into makeovers and basement musicals.

I spent a few years working as an After-School Program Director and Personal Nanny after high school, which was fulfilling but didn't fuel any passion within me. I decided to take a business management course with my father through S.I.I.T. to try something different and left that secondary education experience with a passion burning to start my own business. I followed that with a Lash Extension course in 2016 and began working from my mom's spare bedroom! After quitting my job in childcare to pursue lashing full time, I was hired at a local lash studio and expanded my skill set to include brow services until 2020. I reached a point where I felt like I was ready for more responsibility and freedom within my work, so I began searching for a way to incorporate my newfound skill in beauty services into my love for business and within that pursuit of passion, the idea of B.D.E. Artistry was born.

In March of 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic hit hard and I was unable to work for almost four months. I had just moved into my own apartment for the first time after ending a mentally and emotionally abusive relationship, which left me with low self worth and in a deep depression. I was fortunate enough to spend my time at home during the pandemic, receiving intense therapy and healing a lot of my personal trauma. This gave me the strength and confidence to finally bring my business idea to life. Not only has my pursuit of BDE Artistry given me the freedom and resources to continue on my personal healing journey, it has also given me the opportunity to help others recover from similar situations to mine through my services, knowledge and willingness to connect with and support my clients. I've grown, not just personally, but in business as well. Over the last 4 years there have been many setbacks but just as many achievements and I wouldn't change a thing. Business ownership is not for the weak, but I can assure you that the hard work has always been worth the freedom to be myself in everything that I do!
